Our Story

My passion for vintage tractors comes from growing up in the countryside, where farming isn’t just a job — it’s a way of life. From a young age, I was surrounded by the sound of engines, the smell of fresh-cut grass, and the sight of tractors working the land. It’s something that stays with you.

A big part of that passion came from my grandad. He was the one who really gave me my love for old tractors. Spending time with him, being around the machinery, and hearing the stories behind them is what first got me interested. He showed me that these weren’t just machines — they were part of people’s lives, built to last and worth looking after.

Some of my earliest memories are of being around older tractors that had already done years of work before I ever saw them. There was always something about them that stood out. Where others might have seen something old or worn, I saw something with character and history.

That interest slowly grew into a real passion. I started learning hands-on, fixing what I could, understanding how everything worked, and building my knowledge through experience. Before long, I had a shed full of old tractors of my own — each one with its own story, its own past, and its own reason for being saved.

That passion doesn’t just stay in the shed — it’s part of the work I do every day. For my tractor and driver hire, I proudly use my 1986 Deutz DX 120, a tractor that represents everything I value: reliability, simplicity, and proper engineering. It’s a machine that still earns its keep while carrying a bit of history with it.

I also take great pride in showing my tractors at events across the country. Attending different shows and meeting like-minded people is a big part of what I enjoy, and it’s important to me to keep vintage machinery visible, appreciated, and celebrated by others who share the same passion.

Family has always been a big part of it. The values I’ve been brought up with — working hard, doing things properly, and respecting the land — are what shaped JTD & Family Ltd into what it is today. Even as a one-man business, those roots are behind everything I do.

There’s a feeling you get with vintage machinery that’s hard to explain — the steady rhythm of the engine, the simplicity, and the connection to the past. It takes you back to a time when things were built to last and looked after with pride.

At just 25, I’ve built this business from the ground up, turning that passion into something real. It hasn’t come easy, but it’s something I genuinely care about.

For me, it’s not just about buying and selling machinery.
It’s about keeping history alive, honouring people like my grandad who passed that passion on, and making sure these tractors continue to be seen, heard, and appreciated for years to come.

Our Mission

My goal is simple: to work hard, do things properly, and keep the heritage of farming alive for the future.

Our Vision

My vision is to build a trusted, respected business that supports agriculture while preserving the history and heritage of vintage machinery for future generations.

I want JTD & Family Ltd to be known not just for reliable tractor and driver hire, hay and bale making, and mowing services, but also as a place where vintage tractors and equipment are valued, restored, and kept alive.

In the future, I aim to grow the collection of machinery I work with, continue attending shows across the country, and share the passion for old tractors with more people who appreciate them as much as I do.

I also want to build strong, lasting relationships with customers by always offering honest work, fair service, and a personal approach that people can rely on.

At its core, my vision is to stay true to my countryside roots, keep traditional farming skills alive, and ensure that the sound and sight of classic tractors never disappears from our fields and shows.
